Before the start of the race, participants may store a bag in the "bag check" area inside the First Tennessee Pavilion which is adjacent to the start/finish line. Participants should place their belongings in a plastic bag. Bags should be clearly labeled with the runner’s number with tape and markers provided. Please do not check valuables. Bags that are not retrieved after the race will be thrown out or donated to charity.
Spectators
Half Marathon
The best places for family and friends to watch the Half Marathon include Ross’ Landing behind the Tennessee Aquarium on Riverside Dr. (Mile 2 and 11), Bluff View Arts District on High St. (Mile 9) and North Chattanooga on Frazier St (Mile 10).
5K
The best place to watch the 5k is at Riverfront Pkwy and Main Street or at Riverfront Parkway and Martin Luther King Ave ( Mile 1.3 and 1.8). The turn around is at mile 1.55 and they’ll pass these spots twice but on opposite sides of the road.
Post Race Food
Post race food provided by our Platinum Sponsor, Publix, will be available for participants near the finish line in the First Tennessee Pavilion.

Awards ceremonies will be held in the First Tennessee Pavilion at 9:30 am (for the 5k), 11 am (for the half marathon), and 10:45 am (for the charity challenge).

Weather
On average, Chattanooga's temperature on February 25th ranges from a low of 36 degrees to a high of 58 degrees. The record high for February 25th is 79 degrees (1930) while the record low is 6 degrees (1967).
A "Green" Event
Again this year the Scenic City Half Marathon, 5K and Charity Challenge will adopt eco-friendly measures in carrying out our race. There are three primary areas where we will be “green”:
- Recycling - All the plastic water bottles and sports drink bottles will be collected at the finish area and in the Tennessee Pavilion in recycling containers and will be recycled by the City of Chattanooga.
- Packet pickup - At packet pickup, participants will be given the option of taking a small letter sized envelope for collecting the IPICO timing chip, safety pins, and any charity, sponsor, or running/races brochure information that they may be interested in. Participants will select only the information that they want rather than leaving packet pickup with a bag full of paper that will be disposed of immediately. Unused brochures will be returned to the originating organization or will be recycled. This process will reduce unnecessary waste associated with the packet pickup.
- Paperless Registration - By ONLY having an online registration process, this totally eliminates the need for paper to register.
