Half Marathon Entry Fees

- $60 Sept 14, 2014 to Dec 31, 2014 (early registration)
- $70 Jan 1, 2015 to Feb 25, 2015 (regular registration)
- $80 on Fri Feb 27 and Sat Feb 28, 2015 (late registration - if race has not sold out)
$7.50 of each registration fee will go to the participant’s selected Charity as part of the Charity Challenge.
Half marathon participants will receive a technical race t-shirt, racer gift and finishers will also receive a finisher's medal.
RRCA Southern Region Championship
The 2015 Scenic City Half Marathon has been designated as the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Southern Region Championship Event. Regional Championship medals will be awarded to top overall, master, grandmaster, and senior grandmaster male and female half marathon winners.
All participants of the Scenic City Half Marathon, 5K & Charity Challenge will be entered in a drawing to win a Litespeed road bike!

If the races have not sold out, on-site registration will be available Friday night and Saturday morning at packet pickup.
Participants must be 14 years or older to register for the half marathon.
Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
However, a Half Marathon registered participant may switch to the 5K race. Please visit the registration help table at packet pick up Friday night or Saturday morning to make the change.
Packets, including your bib with embedded chip, and technical shirt can be picked up:
- Friday February 27 from 4 pm to 8 pm (EST) at Finley Stadium, or
- Saturday February 28 from 6:30 am to 7:30 am (EST) at Finley Stadium.
Packet pickup will be organized by bib number. Check your bib number in our list of participants.
Runners over 15 must bring an official photo ID and Active.com confirmation number to packet pick up.
If a runner has made every effort to pick up a race packet but it unable to, a runner may authorize another person to pick up a packet using the packet pick-up authorization form. The form must be signed by both the runner and the person picking up the form and must be accompanied by a hard copy of the runner's picture id.
The half marathon course has been certified by USTAF (certification #TN11101MS).
The half marathon course will start and finish in on the 50 yard of Davenport Field at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee, home of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Mocs Football and Lady Mocs Soccer.
From there it will run towards the river and business district along Riverside Drive and then along the Tennessee River via Amnicola Highway.
After turning around, the course will run back along the scenic Tennessee Riverwalk for 4 miles, passing marshes, river views and wildlife sanctuaries. Runners will then continue through the historic Bluff Art District and past the Hunter Museum.
The course then proceeds over the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge and enters the Chattanooga North Shore district. After passing the local shops and restaurants on Frazier Avenue, the route crosses back over the river on the Veterans Bridge.
The course continues past Ross’ Landing and the Tennessee Aquarium towards the finish on the 50 yard line of Davenport Field at Finley Stadium.
There is a 3.5 hour time limit on finishing the half marathon.
- All half marathon participants start at about 8:00 AM
- Walkers are welcome but must start at the back of the pack.
- Volunteers with mile pace times will help position runners at the start.
Aid Stations & Bathrooms
Aid stations containing water and sports drinks will be available approximately every two miles on the half marathon course. Portalets will be available at about mile 4. Tennessee River Park bathrooms will be open and are located at about mile 7 and mile 8.5.
The time limit for the half marathon is 3.5 hours. Half Marathoners must maintain a 17 minute 30 sec mile pace in order to stay ahead of street re-openings. Once the streets are re-opened and course support shut down, any remaining runners/walkers will need to move to the sidewalks.
The race will utilize IPICO timing chips that will be affixed to each racer’s shoe laces. Each runner will also receive a bib number to be worn during the race.
Runners will receive both a gun time and chip or net time. Overall awards are based on gun times. Age group awards are based on chip or net time.
Results will be posted on this site as well as ChattanoogaTrackClub.org.
Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners, as well as the male and female masters (40+), grandmasters (50+) and senior grandmasters (60+) winners. Awards will also be given to the top three finishers, both male and female, in the following age groups: 16 & Under, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & Over. No duplicate awards.
All finishers of the Scenic City Half Marathon will receive a finisher's medal.
Bicycles, skateboards, baby strollers/joggers, roller skates, and animals are not allowed in the race. Headphones are strongly discouraged.
On average, Chattanooga's temperature on February 28th ranges from a low of 37 degrees to a high of 59 degrees. The record high for February 28th is 78 degrees (1948) while the record low is 10 degrees (1888).
