  1. • The Chattanooga Track Club is pleased to welcome Budweiser of Chattanooga as a new Platinum sponsor for the 2010 event.  Budweiser’s support as well as the support from all our sponsors helps make this a top quality event in region.  Budweiser of Chattanooga distributes Michelob Ultra and Bud Select 55 which are low carbohydrate and low calorie beers that are popular with runners.

  2. • Publix Super Markets will again provide post race food for the runners.  This will be the third year that Publix has participated as a Platinum sponsor.  Publix operates 3 super markets in the Chattanooga area as well as over 1,000 markets in the Southeast US.

  1. •  Scenic City Half Marathon selected as RRCA Tennessee State Championship event

November 3, 2009

•    The Scenic City Half Marathon will be run on Saturday, February 27th, 2010 next year.  It will be the first major event of the year for the Chattanooga running community and promises to be even better than last year.

•    Last year the races had over 700 participants and both the half marathon and 5K sold out prior to race day.  With our low entry fees (no change for the last 2 years), great course and start/finish venue, and a very popular charity benefit, we expect a great turnout again this year.  So come enjoy a “big time” race with that “small town” atmosphere.  But register early to avoid an early closing of the races.

  1. •   Again this year, the event will benefit 8 local charities with our Charity Challenge.  Last year over $21,000 was raised for these Chattanooga Charities.  All 8 charities from last year’s event will  return.  They will be:

  2. •  Area 4 Special Olympics

  3. •  Bethlehem Center

  4. •  Chattanooga Room in the Inn

  5. •  Children’s Advocacy

  6. •  Children’s Home/Chambliss Shelter

  7. •  McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center

  8. •  Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults

  9. •  Tennessee Aquarium

Volunteers from the charities make up half of the race volunteers.  They will assist in registration, packet pickup, water stop and aid stations, and many more duties. They are a major part of our event and we hope you will support them.  More information on our charities and the Charity Challenge can be found on the Charity Challenge page.

  1. •  Our thanks to Matt McLelland of Warren-McLelland Aerial Photography for the fantastic shot of the Scenic City that is our Home Page.  A framed copy of this photograph was the 2009 Award for our race winners for both races and all age groups.
