5k Run & Walk Entry Fees

- $30 after Jan 12, 2014
$5.00 of each registration fee will go to the participant’s selected Charity as part of the Charity Challenge.
5k participants will receive a technical race t-shirt.
Online registration closes at 11:59pm on Wednesday Feb 19 for both the half marathon and 5K. On-site registration will also be available Friday night at packet pickup for both the 5K and half marathon. There will be race day registration on Saturday for the 5K. There will be no race day registration on Saturday for the half marathon.
Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Packets, including your bib number, timing chip, and technical shirt can be picked up:
- Friday February 21 from 4 pm to 8 pm (EST) - location to be announced, or
- Saturday February 22 from 6:30 am to 7:30 am (EST) at the Tennessee Pavilion which is adjacent to the start/finish location and Finley Stadium.
Runners must bring an official photo ID and Active.com confirmation number to packet pick up. Runners may not pick up a packet for another runner.
The 5k course has been certified by the USTAF (certification number 11073MS).
With the start/finish at Finley Stadium, the 5k run & walk will be run as an out and back course along Riverfront Parkway.
- All 5k participants start at about 8:15 AM
- Walkers are welcome but must start at the back of the pack.
- Volunteers with mile pace times will help position runners at the start.
An aid station containing water and sports drinks will be available at the turnaround of the 5K race at approximately 1.5 miles.
The race will utilize IPICO timing chips that will be affixed to each racer’s shoe laces. Each runner will also receive a bib number to be worn during the race. The tear off strip on the bottom of the bib will be available as a backup to the timing system.
Runners will receive both a gun time and chip or net time. Overall awards are based on gun times. Age group awards are based on chip or net time.
Results will be posted on this site as well as ChattanoogaTrackClub.org.
Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners, as well as the male and female masters (40+), grandmasters (50+) and senior grandmasters (60+) winners. Awards will also be given to the top three finishers, both male and female, in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & Over. All awards will be based on “gun times”. No duplicate awards.
Bicycles, skateboards, baby strollers/joggers, roller skates, and animals are not allowed in the race. Headphones are strongly discouraged.
On average, Chattanooga's temperature on February 22nd ranges from a low of 36 degrees to a high of 57 degrees. The record high for February 22nd is 77 degrees (1980) while the record low is 3 degrees (1963).
