5K Race Information
Date: Saturday, February 27, 2010
Location: Chattanooga, TN. Finley Stadium/First Tennessee Pavilion
Half Marathon Start Time: 8:15 AM Eastern Time (about 15 minutes after the start of the Half Marathon
Start Rules:

• All 5K participants start at about 8:15 AM

• Walkers are welcome but must start at the back of the pack.

• Volunteers with mile pace times will help position runners at the start.
Entry Limit:
Participants who register before the January 10, 2010 date will be guaranteed entry. After January 10th a limited number of entries will be allowed in order to maintain a quality race. The remaining race openings will be posted on January 11th.
5K Registration Fees:

• Online registration ONLY. No race day registration.

• $20 before January 10, 2010

• $25 before February 23, 2010

• $2.50 of each registration fee will go to the participant’s selected Charity as part of the Charity Challenge.
Bib Numbers/Timing Chips:
The race will utilize IPICO timing chips that will be affixed to each racer’s shoe laces. Each runner will also receive a bib number to be worn during the race. The tear off strip on the bottom of the bib may be used to tag your bag at the bag drop off. See packet pickup below for picking up the bib and timing chip.
Race T-Shirt:
Each 5K participant will receive a cotton race T-shirt. See packet pickup below for picking up the race T-shirt.
Packet Pickup:
Packets, including your bib number, timing chip, and shirt can be picked up:
• Friday February 26 from 4 pm to 8 pm (EST) at the Crystal Room off the lobby of the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel and Convention Center at 1400 Market St. or
• Saturday February 27 from 6:30 am to 7:30 am (EST) at the Tennessee Pavilion which is adjacent to the start/finish location and Finley Stadium.
Awards:
Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners, as well as the male and female masters (40+) and grandmasters (50+) winners. Awards will also be given to the top two finishers, both male and female, in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 & Over. All awards will be based on “gun times”. No duplicate awards.
Cancellation Policy:
All 5K entry fees are NONREFUNDABLE and NONTRANSFERABLE.
Course:
With the start/finish at Finley Stadium, the 5k run & walk will be run as an out and back course along Riverfront Parkway. View map:
Aid Station on the Race Course:
An aid station containing water and sports drinks will be available at the turnaround of the 5K race at approximately 1.5 miles.
Directions to Event:
The start/finish is located at Finley Stadium in downtown Chattanooga (1826 Carter St.)
